Designing, Implementing, and Evaluating Evidence-Based, Holistic Programs :

Deploying Reality Check

Reality Check is an easy-to-use tool that can generate data for decision making by allowing program managers and staff to assess past trends in contraceptive prevalence and test future scenarios for a geographic area.

Over the life of the RESPOND Project, Reality Check has been introduced and used in several countries, including Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, Tajikistan, and Togo. Implementation ranged from a one-time training to introductory goal-setting with high-level stakeholders, followed by full training and roll-out. While some Reality Check activities focused solely on national-level planning and forecasting, others built capacity for subnational planning and advocacy.

The Reality Check tool, the User’s Guide, and other resources related to global and country experiences are contained in this section.
